Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa
Last Week
My goodness the end of the year has come so quickly. The students have been anxious to help with packing up and cleaning the room. I can't speak to what happens at home, but each one of them is very helpful and great at cleaning and organizing. It has been fun working as a team getting our room ready for summer and next year's kindergarten class!
Your child has been coming home with books from school. Many are from our current ELA curriculum which we will not be using next year. We are excited to get as many books into the homes and hands of our students for summer reading. These books were chosen by your students which they enjoyed. A few more will be added to your home library yet this week as I reorganize my library. 😊

Due to allergies, please refrain from sending snacks that contain any kind of nut. Thank you!
Next Week
I will be sending homework calendars for the summer months. They include some fun, different activities
that will help your child continue learning/maintaining during time away from school. Children typically
lose knowledge over the summer if parents are not intentional about keeping that from happening.
Thank you for keeping the learning going ☺.
Please continue to work on reading (both to your child and listening to him/her read) and sight words each day. As mentioned above, it really makes a difference in reading and writing achievement.
Tuesday, May 28-All School Picnic
Wednesday, May 29-1/2 day
Thursday, May 30-1/2 day and Class End of the Year Party
Friday, May 31-Last 1/2 day of Kindergarten 😢
This is my last newsletter of the year. It is hard to believe that the year has come to an end. Each day when
we count the days left on the calendar we all have a mixture of excitement and sadness. It has truly been
a wonderful year. Thank you for entrusting me with your precious children. I have been blessed to spend
the year with them and also to meet all of you parents. I will look forward to watching your children grow
as they move through Brown School and beyond ☺.
Have a wonderful summer!!
