Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa
Last Week
Last week flew by! Ice skating was a blast from what I hear. I was so sorry to miss this great event. Mrs. Gideon took some good pictures and really enjoyed the day with your wonderful children. A huge thank you goes out to all the parents who came to help get skates on and tied, help with skating and then getting them off again. We just couldn't do fun things like this without the amazing support from all of you!
Snack and Leaders
Your child will come home with the Leader bag the night before his/her leader day. There is a notebook inside with directions for sharing both a snack with the class and a Show and Tell item. Please refer to the calendar in the back of your child's take home folder for leader and other important dates.

Next Week Events
Our Positivity Project trait is Love. You care a lot about something or someone.
Tomorrow is our 100th Day of School!!! Please be sure your child brings his/her 100th day project. I sent a hard copy with directions as well as an electronic copy last week. Let me know though if you have any questions. We will celebrate this event all day with books, counting to 100, a fun party, etc. Be sure to ask your child about the day.
On Tuesday I am sending home the Valentines Day information. There is a very specific way we would like the children to address the valentines, so please don't work on them until after Tuesday. Our volunteer team is already working on our celebration on Wednesday, 2/14 in the afternoon. We have so much to be thankful for and to celebrate!!
We get to wear Pajamas again this Wednesday for World Read Aloud Day! Your child may bring a favorite book from home to share with the class.
Although we know the 100th day is tomorrow, we are celebrating it as a school on Friday by dressing up as a 100 year old person. This is a Student Council event. It should be really fun!
Please be sure to --
- Send a leak-proof, water bottle each day
- You are welcome and encouraged to leave a pair of shoes at school in the winter.
- Dress your child for the weather of the day-snow pants, boots, hat and mittens
- Empty your child's folder each day
Thank you for returning Library books by Tuesday of each week.
Please be sure your child has gym shoes each Friday.
Upcoming Events
Tuesday, February 14--Valentine's Day Celebration-We will make Valentine bags in class for collection. I will send home directions
for how to address your child's valentines and class lists on Friday. As far as valentines go, you will be given a sheet with each of our classmates' names and numbers in boxes. Your child is to cut out all the names and tape or glue one on each valentine to be distributed during our party. Your child will only need to sign his/her name to the valentines they wish to give to classmates. It is a great matching activity as each child will have made a Valentine Bag at school with the same name and number box. If you have any questions once you get the sheet, please let me know.
Wednesday, February 21--Family Lego Night @ Brown
Thursday and Friday, February 22, 23--1/2 day of school--Parent/Teacher conferences
Thursday, March 7 (new date)--Brown School Variety Show
Tuesday, March 12--Science Night
