Kindergarten Connection

Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa

                                                 Last Week

Thankfully, we finished up our NWEA testing last week. The students worked hard and were happy to have this task complete. You will receive the results with your child's progress reports the week after school let's out.

Even though we had to move our Donuts with Someone Special event inside, it was lots of fun being together enjoying a delicious sweet treat. Thank you to all the PTO parents who made that happen for us. That is no small undertaking, but the memories are certainly appreciated.

April homework calendars are still welcome for a trip to the treasure chest. 🙌

Thank you for continuing the search for the last few library books.

The Book Bonanza was a huge success! What a blessing for each SJ elementary student to receive 10 new books for summer reading. Those unable to attend were able to choose books on Thursday in the library. For our 1 student sick the last couple of days, I chose books for you. They are waiting for you in your cubbie.

What fun it was to see all the SJ seniors who attended Brown School come visit us for the last time as students. We loved circling the track and clapping for them as they walked by in their cap and gowns. A few even came into our classroom afterwards for a quick pic. I can't help getting a bit teary when I see them all grown up. I love that this happens here at SJ. ❤

Snack and Leaders

Your child will come home with the Leader bag the night before his/her leader day. There is a notebook inside with directions for sharing both a snack with the class and a Show and Tell item. Please refer to the calendar in the back of your child's take home folder for leader and other important dates.

Next Week Events

I will be assessing individually tomorrow/Monday. Mrs. Soyk will be our guest teacher so all will go smoothly. The children love having her and the learning is not interrupted a bit. What a blessing she is to me/us!

Our last drill of the year will be a Tornado drill on Thursday morning. The kiddos are getting really good at knowing what to do in each situation to keep everyone safe.

Here is the SEL link for the End of the Year from Mrs. VanHekken. Please take a look at it for great ideas for your children. EO the Year Learner Behavior Family Communication
