Kindergarten Connection
Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa
Last Week
Our 50th day was a great celebration of all we have learned about math and reading, but also about each other. Thanks so much to the volunteers who helped make this party happen. We sure had fun!
During Daily 5 we are learning to state the Sequence of Events in the stories we read and the things we do. Ask your child to tell you the sequence in some common job he/she does, ie. brushing teeth, getting ready for bed, etc. You may be surprised at the answer.
In Math we are working with shapes. Look around to see how many shapes there are in our homes, yards, stores, anywhere we go. The 5 shapes we need to know this year are square, triangle, rectangle, circle and hexagon. Most of our kiddos know most of them. It is fun to find them in our world.
Please return your child's finished disguised turkey and timeline asap. If you need another copy of either let me know. We love hearing the children describe both under the document camera.
Snack and Leaders
Your child will come home with the Leader bag the night before his/her leader day. There is a notebook inside with directions for sharing both a snack with the class and a Show and Tell item. Please refer to the calendar in the back of your child's take home folder for leader and other important dates.

Due to allergies, please refrain from sending snacks that contain any kind of nut. Thank you!
We will snack in the afternoon each day (our lunch time is 11:30). It is not necessary for you to send a snack with your child, as the leader provides it each day. Thank you for sending a leak-proof water bottle with your child each day.

Next Week Events
Monday is our Brown School Thanksgiving Feast! I think they are still in need of volunteers if you are able. We are singing/eating the 3rd session @ 12:50. Thanksgiving Feast volunteer sign up
Our next Guest Reader, Ms. Glassman, will arrive at 3:15 on Wednesday, November 15th. Please bring 2-3 books with you to

We have a ½ day on Friday, November 17th as we finish our 1st trimester.
Thank you for returning Library books by Tuesday of each week.
Please, please label your child's outdoor clothing, lunch boxes, water bottles, etc.
